Global Mystic is a musical project from Darren Sangita, exploring the sacred geometry of spiritual traditions from across our world, where ancient wisdom meets contemporary electronic production. Shaped by eight years alongside traditional musicians in India and nearly two decades immersed in Brixton’s Reggae and Dub culture, Global Mystic weaves the profound resonance of global devotional music into electroacoustic fusion soundscapes.
One Human Family
Drawing from the mystical traditions that unite us as One Human Family, these compositions blend classical ragas, Sufi qawwali, Baul folk traditions, and sacred mantras with psychedelic synthesis and dub atmospheres. The foundation lies in decades of deep listening to the dub masters – Lee “Scratch” Perry and King Tubby – whose revolutionary use of space, echo, and bass resonance provides the rhythmic and sonic architecture that underpins these ambient journeys.
Each piece honors both the spiritual lineages of traditional musicians and the transformative vision of Jamaican dub pioneers, translating timeless wisdom into a contemporary sonic language.
