Screen : we A.R.E. screen

Join in with the Worldwide Exclusive Launch Party for the new album from SCREEN. An explosive combination of Dr. Alex Paterson (The Orb), Gaudi (Digital Dubmeister) & Chester (Brilliant) coming together for the first time to produce a new long player.   The multi levelled realities encased in their debit is an ear-popping mix of electro dub, glitch rock, and ambient punk (!!) cooked up in typical London Dub stylee.

Our very own Jon Sangita is a Special Guest DJ on the night, spinning his usual blend of deep funky ambience and shamanic dub  along with the ambient wizard himself, Alex Paterson, so even more reasons to be cheerful :)

Be sure to catch up with the funksters in person for a dubbalicious good night out.

WHERE :   Inspiral Lounge, Camden Lock. Camden town

WHEN : 31st March 2012

COST : £7 Door. £5.50 adv.

While its ten tracks sport recognizable elements from previous signature sounds, the spirit of collaboration turns the album into a three-way odyssey leaving musical barriers as distant specks on the horizon, the afore-mentioned dub pulsing in the lower reaches or splintering vocals, which sometimes use vocoder effects to lend a cold, futuristic sheen to the messages.
After the swirling pulsations of ’15 minutes’ and intoxicating strings and contagious bongos of ‘Frog Time’, the album ventures into the orchestral dronescape of ‘Gone phishing’ before the sugar-rush monotone funked-up robo-rap of ‘Just outside’. The electronic wind effect of ’Perfect’ turns loose a slo-mo dub-funk behemoth, goosed by sinister narrative which continues as Giorgio Moroder operates from the Clockwork Orange chemical toilets on the post-apocalyptic city prowl of ‘Section by section’. QUICK NURSE, THE SCREEN!

After a generation of duos, the power trio is back, hotwired into the 21st century in the startling new form of SCREEN. But, where the threesome lineup, first propagated in the mid-60s by the likes of Cream, used guitar, bass and drums to rattle the roof, Alex Paterson, Gaudi and Chestar have conjoined to tear down the walls, powered by mutual obsessions with dub’s bass-propelled dislocation of Read more

Dubsahara : Cameltronica

Arabic dub is an age old sonic concept, whose sound echoes through time round sandstorm laden pyramids. Dubsahara practices this ancient form of Cameltronica in fine style.  His recent set at Sonica Festival was a masterful excursion through the ultraworlds, navigating symphonic sinewaves in etheric motion.  It was a study in fluid dynamics and inference patterns of fractal geometry skillfully fused with traditional arabic melodies.

Cloudcycle on Bakshish

Cloudcycle is an electronic amorphous international music project started by Mauxaum and Greg Hunter, released on Bakshish Music. Ever evolving, deep electronic strata of shapeshifting tones and timbres make for sometimes unsettling, sometimes mystic but always fascinatingly challenging and engaging soundscapes.  Subsonic rumbles and shimmering astrologic starlights coalesce to form intriguing clouds of sound.

Joined by fellow explorers Master Margherita, Lingua Lustra and Ishq the journey diversifies, morphs and forms into remixes whilst in the midst of creation.

Produced by digitally weaving strands of sound over internet enabled space time contuinuum, these records of mindstates and emotional configurations of Digital Signal Processing have their own unique flow and form.  For those interested in original explorations of deep and heavy beats fused with sculptural etheric waves of textural sensurround sound and techno aesthetic, this trip is a must.  Download and Donate.

Temple of Stars (Omega.v1)

Spectralite unveil “Temple of Stars” (Omega.v1)

This ambient classic has been obscured from view only by the clouds of cosmic dust that prevail afore the arrival of the Photon Belt.  In such a space and time, a certain degree of chaos may reign.  With the blessings of the Universal Resonance we may hear the infinite magic from the Temple of Stars.

Download the Album

This is an Omega.v1 release.  This is raw music, direct from the producers intergalactic studio to you.  Unmastered and still in development, this is a real opportunity to join in with the evolutionary flux and flow of modern music.  If you like what you hear, donate and watch as we aim to develop it even further.

Taking electroacoustic music to a new level of sophistication, this ethereal delight is already something of a connoisseurs classic on the Global ambient electronica scene, having been toured around Europe in previous seasons.  This is the Omega.v1 version of the album which may yet see another incarnation as the hyperspational mapping capabilities of this production team could yet be upgraded once we enter the Photon Belt.  Each piece on this modern hyperspace-age recording tells an epic tale. There are no set-to-repeat digital diamoporhisms here, this is pure geometric isomorphism incontrovertibly elucidating on the nature of existence.
